First Run a Route

To begin the Tour, double-click on the PC*Miler icon on your desktop to open the program. To run a trip, your cursor should be in the Route 1 entry window, in the Stop field. (If you don’t see this route entry window, open the Windows menu and select Route 1.)

  1. Enter the trip origin as a city/state combination: type “sioux city, ia” in the City box and press <Enter>. Click OK in the pick list that pops up. (If a pick list does not appear, open the Tools menu and select Multiple Name Instances > Provide Pick List.) You have entered “51101 Sioux City, IA, Woodbury”.

  2. Type “Urbandale, IA” and press <Enter>. Highlight “50323 Urbandale, IA, Polk” on the pick list to select it, then click OK.

  3. Type “52585” and press <Enter>. Richland, IA is now entered as a stop.

  4. Use the Spelling Helper to enter a city name: type “ma, ia” and press <Enter>. Once the pick list appears, highlight “52057 Manchester, IA, Delaware” and click OK.

  5. Use the ZIP Code Helper to enter the final destination of the route: type 505 and press <Enter>. In the pick list that appears highlight “50514 Armstrong, IA, Emmet” and click OK.
